Waterview Road Tunnels

The Government is considering new ways to fund and develop transport networks. We worked with The Treasury’s infrastructure team to prepare the business case and Cabinet report on the twin bored tunnels option for the Waterview Connection of the Auckland motorway.

Rail Access Charge Negotiations

The charges for track usage run to the heart of rail transport. We acted on behalf of Toll New Zealand on proposed track access charges by Ontrack. This required analysis of budgets and forecasts for operation, maintenance and development of network assets, and resulted in a framework which was fair and reflected the commercial realities of a complex rail network.

Development Contributions Policies

The legal requirements around local government development contributions are complex, and in th past developers have sought to challenge these policies in Court. We have worked with six Councils on the design of development contribution policies. We have also assisted a couple of Councils on options for rating policies, and systems to track receipt and expenditure of contributions. The process has meant policies that are readily understood by councils and developers and legally robust.

Restructure PNG Telikom

PNG Telikom was battling to expand its infrastructure while dealing with poor customer relations. We partnered with KPMG on a complete re-design of PNG Telikom, from an engineering-focused to a customer focused organisation. The result is a company with a framework for future expansion of infrastructure and customer networks
